We are a small but friendly club and are well known for the way in which we punch well above our weight in competitions. We have many county champions in our squad and our athletes have regularly represented the county in inter-counties events and at the UK Schools Olympics. The club has been awarded ‘Clubmark’ an indication of the quality of our systems of health and safety and athlete care.
We run sessions for children in reception class up to year 8 on Saturday mornings between 9.00am and 10.30am at Five Acres Athletics Track, Lakers School, Berry Hill near Coleford. The focus of these sessions is multi-event participation including all running, jumping and throwing events.
We also run training sessions on Tuesdays and Thursdays for school years 4 (minimum age 8) up to 12. The Tuesday session is still focused on multi-events however, Thursday sessions concentrate on throws and endurance running mainly.
There is a further session run at Severbanks school on a Monday if you can’t make either of the above sessions. This session is the same as the Saturday session, in that we cater for reception to year 8 and is from 5.00pm to 6.00pm. This is also a multi-event session concentrating on the three core activities of running, jumping and throwing.
