There is a 1 mile fun run in Weston Super Mare on Sunday 19th Feb.
This is a great “first-time” fun event for some of our younger runners, but also quite competitive with some decent club runners at the very front if you fancy a challenge! Entry is £2.50 by post (get your entry in quick though), £4 on-line or £3.50 on the day.
A few of our younger club members (aged 5+) have taken part over the past couple of years. It has a good atmosphere, 200+ runners and a medal for all finishers. It says on the website that it is not a race, no times taken, etc. but they said that last year and it was chip-timed!
The course is usually 1 lap (across the beach, up onto the promenade, around the marine lake, down some steps and back across the beach to finish). Distance varies slightly from year to year but it is between 1.6k and 1.8k.

Drag mum and dad along too as entry to the fun run is open to adults (an adult will also need to run with you if you are under 10). Alternatively they may even fancy the main event….The ‘Tough Ten’ (10 mile) multi-terrain race.
